Website Terms & Conditions

Last updated 5th September, 2025.

1. Introduction

Welcome. This website (www.hugomenard.com) is owned and operated by me, Hugo Ménard (ABN 575 056 019 03).
If you have any questions, or if there’s something you’d like to know more about, feel free to reach out: hugo@hugomenard.com.

(a) What you’ll find here

This page lays out the terms and conditions for using this website and my services. It’s here to articulate clear expectations and boundaries that we can both benefit from.

By using this website or my services, you’re confirming that you’re over 18 and that you agree to these terms.

All services are provided in line with Australian Consumer Law.

I may update these terms and conditions from time to time. The latest version, with its date of revision, will always be available here on my website. If any changes are significant, I’ll also highlight them on this page and notify you by email if you’re on my mailing list.

What you’ll find here are the broad strokes — an overview of the general terms. Some services may have additional, specific terms. If there’s ever a conflict between what’s written here and the specific terms for a service, the specific terms for that service will override these general terms, but only where they conflict.

For details on how I collect, store, and protect personal information — including other contact details — please see my Privacy Policy.

2. Content Disclaimer

Through this website and my social media, I share information on workplace wellness — often with a mind-body-spirit perspective — to nurture healing and human potential. When individuals thrive, the workplaces benefit and vice-versa. It’s a win-win.

My intention is to help people get to the root of the challenges that show up in their work life, and facilitate profound transformation. We spend most of our time at work, yet many people find work draining or even depressing, and it can feel like all their energy goes into just getting by.

I have found that when we deeply transform our inner world, and focus on inner healing, we can transform our outer world in magical ways — even when the circumstances around us feel too big or too complex to change.

(a) Content Policy

The resources I share here are for general information and inspiration only. They’re not a substitute for specialised advice tailored to your individual circumstances, such as medical or psychological treatment.

Visiting this site doesn’t create a professional relationship with me — that only happens through one of my paid services.

Any stories, testimonials, or examples you see are genuine, but please remember that everyone is unique. What worked for me or my clients may work differently for you, and results can’t be guaranteed.

I do my best to keep everything accurate, helpful, and up to date, but I can’t promise it’s perfect. I’m not responsible for how you choose to use the information here or for any issues that might arise from errors, omissions, or outdated details. How you engage with this content is always your choice. If you notice anything that seems off, please let me know.

I may update, change, or remove content at any time without notice. This includes my right to delete any comments made on this website and on my social media pages and profiles without any notification or correspondence with you. Please keep communications appropriate and respectful.

(b) Visitor Responsibilities

Your wellbeing is in your hands — anything you choose to engage with from this site should come from an informed and self-aware place. You are responsible for your own health and wellbeing when engaging with any practices mentioned here.

Some of the content offers “how-to” material for mind-body-spirit practices intended to support healing and transformation. While these practices can be deeply nourishing, they can also bring up challenges such as emotional distress, resurfacing of old experiences, or even physical symptoms — particularly if they are undertaken improperly or without appropriate support.

I also share alternative perspectives and approaches. These are offered because I believe they can be valuable, but they are not to be followed blindly. As with any new perspective or action, there can be unforeseen consequences. Please use discernment, common sense, and take responsibility for your choices.

If you ever feel negatively affected, please reach out to someone you trust — whether that’s a licensed mental health professional or an alternative practitioner. Examples of alternative approaches include EFT, PSYCH-K®, Somatic Experiencing®, bodywork, energy medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, energy healing, or shamanic practices. These are simply examples, not recommendations or endorsements, and I encourage you to explore a wide range of approaches and make informed choices that resonate with you.

By visiting this site, you agree not to engage in harmful, malicious, or unlawful behaviour — such as spamming, posting defamatory content, introducing malware or viruses, hacking, or causing harm to others or their businesses.

(c) Downloads

Sometimes I share free resources like PDFs, guides, or tools to support your transformation. I take care to keep everything safe and easy to use, but I can’t guarantee that downloads will always be free from technical issues, viruses, or other risks. I am not liable for any damage to your device or data resulting from downloads.

For your own digital safety, please keep your device protected with up-to-date antivirus software and browse with the same care you would anywhere else online.

(d) External Links

Sometimes I may include links to other websites — for your information, inspiration, or curiosity. While I choose these thoughtfully, I don’t control their content or policies.

Unless I’ve said otherwise, I’m not affiliated with those sites, don’t endorse their products or services, and can’t take responsibility for what they provide or how they operate.

3. Disclaimer for Services

There are a few ways you can choose to work with me. Unless I’ve provided you with different terms in writing, the terms and conditions in this document apply to all of my services.

Here’s a quick overview of what I offer:

  • Inner Work (for workplaces): This offering, designed to support employee wellbeing, is arranged by organisations for their employees. Each employee receives 2 one-on-one mind-body-spirit sessions per month. These sessions help individuals manage challenges, increase resilience, and tap into their potential — creating benefits for both the employee and the company.

  • Private 1:1 Sessions (for individuals): These sessions are similar in approach but focus entirely on your personal journey. They’re designed to support the transformation you want in your life, whether or not it relates to work. Unlike the workplace offering, these sessions are arranged and paid for by you directly.

(a) My responsibilities

Whether I’m working with an organisation and its employees, or directly with individuals, my role is to provide support with integrity, wisdom, and a human-centred approach. My intention is to create space for deep transformation.

I don’t tell people what to do or try to shape them into what others want them to be. Instead, I guide people through processes that create deep transformation within, helping them access their own wisdom and power.

Because every person is unique, I can’t guarantee specific outcomes. What you can expect me to endeavour to do is:

  • Honour confidentiality,

  • Speak the truth (even when it’s uncomfortable),

  • Listen deeply — beyond the words,

  • Help clients stay grounded if things feel overwhelming during sessions,

  • Show up with warmth and humanity (never dismissing real struggles),

  • Give space for whatever arises, without judgment, and

  • Share practical and profound methods for navigating what comes up.

When working with organisations who provide these sessions to their employees, I am committed to ensuring that while sessions remain human focused and confidential  between myself and the employee, our work together also supports positive outcomes in the workplace. There can be subtle complexities here, and I use my best discernment and skill to navigate the situation toward a win-win solution.

I will communicate clearly, provide necessary information, and act professionally in delivering services to your employees.

For reference, I also follow the General Code of Conduct for Health Services, which you can read here.

(b) What I expect from people who have sessions with me

To get the most from our work together, I ask that you:

• Be willing to go inward, meet uncomfortable emotions, hidden fears, or unresolved memories, and engage sincerely with mind-body-spirit practices that support inner transformation.

• Stay open to the possibility that transforming your inner world can positively affect your outer world, even when challenges feel unsolvable.

• Be honest with yourself and with me. Let me know if something doesn’t feel right or isn’t working.

• Take ownership of your own wellbeing and actions.

• Arrive on time and well hydrated. For remote sessions, be in a quiet and private space where you won’t be interrupted, with enough room to stretch your arms out and make small movements with your body while seated. Have water, tissues, and a way to capture notes or insights — pen and paper or digital is fine.

(c) What I expect from organisations I work with

• Respect that sessions are held in confidentiality. You get to know how many sessions have taken place, and with whom, but not what was addressed during sessions. Organisations must not request or expect disclosure of session content.

• Communicate openly with me regarding any issues or expectations.

(d) Important information

This coaching is not a substitute for mental health care, and I am not a licensed mental health professional. I do not diagnose or treat medical or psychological conditions. If you are dealing with significant distress or a diagnosed mental health condition, you are strongly encouraged to seek support from a qualified mental health practitioner alongside our work.

That said, I recognise that many people experience periods of anxiety, low mood, or other challenges as part of being human. You are welcome to work with me if you feel resourced and able to engage - and I will always do my best to support you within the limits of my scope.

If it becomes clear that your needs go beyond the space that I can safely or ethically hold, I will let you know and, where possible, help guide you to more appropriate support.

If you’re currently in therapy or under mental health care, please let me know, and ensure your provider knows about and supports your decision to work with me.

I encourage you to take a long term approach to this work. While you’re free to end ongoing sessions at any time, without needing to explain, I ask that you try two full sessions and then genuinely assess whether it’s a good fit for you or not.

You’re in control of sessions. If you’d rather not share details about something, just let me know, and we can still work with it.

While I’ve seen this work lead to deep and lasting transformation, I can’t guarantee specific outcomes. If things aren’t working as you’d hoped, or something feels off, please speak with me - powerful breakthroughs often come from the honest conversations most people avoid.

(e) Session confidentiality

Sessions are held in confidentiality. I don’t share the content of your sessions with anyone - except in rare, serious situations (like risk of harm, illegal activity, or a legal requirement), and even then, I’ll speak with you first wherever possible. You also give me permission to contact your nominated emergency person if I have serious concerns for your wellbeing.

To protect your privacy, if we see each other in public I will act as though I don’t know you, unless you approach me.

If you are participating in sessions offered by your organisation, your employer (or whoever is funding the sessions) will know how many sessions you’ve had, and if you cancel within 24 hours of a booked session or are a “no-show”, since these sessions are still billed. They will not receive details about what’s discussed between us in the sessions.

If I need to log hours for certification, I may record your name, contact details, session date and time, but this information is only shared with the training body if specifically requested. It will never include session content. On occasion, I may seek professional support (such as supervision or mentoring) to help me do my best work. Your identity will always be kept confidential in these conversations.

For details about how session notes and digital communications are handled, please see my Privacy Policy.

I may occasionally reflect on common themes that emerge in my work - such as what supports people to thrive at work - in general ways, including in writing or conversations. When working with employees, I may speak with the company, though this is always done to support positive change. These reflections are never personal or identifiable, and I will not share company-specific insights if doing so could reasonably create issues for individual employees.

(f) Risks

It’s normal to feel tired, emotional, hot, cold, or thirsty during or after sessions. If you’d like to slow down or shift direction at any time, just let me know.

Very rarely, you might feel unwell during or after a session as transformation takes place. If this happens, rest is usually best, and reach out to me or another practitioner if you are particularly concerned.

Sometimes things become more intense before they ease up - like scrubbing a dirty pan, things may look messier at first, but it’s part of the process of clearing it out. You may have memories come to the surface, or fade away. You may also have experiences that are beyond your understanding, which is sometimes empowering, and sometimes disorienting.

If you’ve had a particularly intense session and feel noticeably affected afterward — for example, feeling emotionally raw or like you’re in an altered state — avoid activities that require a clear, responsible mind, such as driving or operating machinery.

If you’re taking prescribed medication, please let your healthcare provider know that you’ll be engaging in practices designed to reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. This work can influence your body chemistry - often in positive ways - which may, in turn, affect your medication needs, including dosage.

Do not self-medicate, and please seek appropriate professional support if needed alongside our work. You remain responsible for monitoring your own physical and emotional limits during and after sessions.

4. Are we a fit?

This work isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. It’s most powerful when there’s a genuine resonance between us.

(a) For organisations

I don’t expect organisations to be perfect, or tick every box below. What matters is caring enough to want something better, and being open to exploring what that could look like.

Here’s what makes a good fit:

• You value your people: You recognise that employee wellbeing is a win–win, and that when people thrive, that supports the organisation.

• Beyond productivity: You see the value of supporting employees in ways that honour their humanity and potential — not just as a means to hit targets.

• Evolving systems: You’re willing to evolve at a systems level - so the organisation supports its people, and its people support the organisation. A circle of life.

And here are signs it may not be the right fit:

• Wellness as a checkbox: If wellness is treated mainly as a compliance exercise or just to boost productivity without openness to the deeper, less tangible benefits.

• Rigid systems: If there’s no willingness to reflect on organisational structures or culture that may be undermining wellbeing.

• Confidentiality not respected: If leadership expects access to private session content or isn’t prepared to safeguard employee trust.

The sweet spot isn’t the organisation that has it all figured out, nor the one that’s deeply toxic. It’s the one that recognises things could be better — and wants to take meaningful steps, however small, toward a workplace where both people and business can flourish.

(b) For employees

Here’s what makes a good fit:

The heart of this work is a willingness to go inward — to engage in mind-body-spirit practices that open the door to deep transformation, so new possibilities can unfold in your outer world, sometimes in magical ways.

On a more practical level, people usually come to me when work feels heavy or overwhelming, and they want things to be better. While you don’t need to fit into a category, here are a few common situations I help with:

• Low: Work feels depressing and empty, perhaps leaving you feeling drained, disconnected, wishing things were better or questioning your worth. You’re tired of the rat race, and have a deeper sense that this is not how life is supposed to be.

• Anxious: Work makes you feel nervous, fearful, or on edge — like you’re never enough, always bracing for mistakes or feedback that feels harsh, with racing thoughts you can’t quite down.

• Struggle: You’re trying hard, but nothing flows, and you’re not sure how much longer you can keep pushing.

• Potential: Things are going OK. You want to experience more of your human potential. More freedom, creativity, power or a deeper alignment with life or the universe.

We may be an especially good fit if you’re drawn to personal growth, spirituality, ancient wisdom, or alternative healing, and want to reclaim your power and sovereignty in a way that honours your humanity.

And here are signs it may not be the right fit:

• Avoiding discomfort: If you’d rather override or simply re-write difficult feelings with positivity, instead of gently exploring them and allowing a more genuine transformation, this may not resonate.

• Wanting a fixed plan: If you’re looking for an action-oriented, solution-focused roadmap, where I give you advice and a plan for you to follow, this work may not suit you as my approach is more fluid, exploratory, and focused on internal transformation creating external shifts.

• Seeking therapy: If you’re experiencing significant mental health challenges or seeking therapy, please know I’m not a licensed mental health professional. I can sometimes work alongside therapy if you feel resourced, but my scope has limits. If you’re unsure, just reach out and we can discuss it.

• Preferring to talk only: If you want to talk about problems without engaging the inner work that shifts them, this process may not be the best fit.

• Rejecting the possibility of a grander intelligence: If you strongly reject the possibility of a grander intelligence, consciousness, higher self etc that can support healing and transformation, this work may not feel meaningful for you. To be clear, you don’t need an affirmative belief in this idea, just a willingness to stay open to the possibility is enough.

• Disconnection from body and emotions: If you feel completely cut off from your body or emotions, the process can feel harder to engage with, and progress may take longer. This work can help you reconnect, but it may be more of a gradual process that requires patience.

(c) For individuals

While much of my work is offered through workplace wellness programs, I also work with individuals directly. The focus is similar — easing struggles, unlocking potential.

5. Indemnity and liability

My intent is to give accurate and helpful information in my content and services, but I can’t guarantee everything is complete or perfect. I’m human, mistakes can happen. If you notice something that seems off, I’d genuinely appreciate you letting me know.

While I take care to ensure this website and my services align with best practices, I’m not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur unless it’s caused by my negligence, misrepresentation, or deliberate fault. You remain fully responsible for how you choose to engage with any suggestions, guidance, or insights I offer. My role is to open possibilities, not to command or control your action — you can always say “no.”

It’s up to you to use your discernment, do your own research, and consult with the appropriate people before making major decisions. By using my services, you agree to take full responsibility for your choices and to indemnify me against any consequences that may arise.

If, for any reason, this indemnity is unenforceable, my total liability — excluding negligence or intentional wrongdoing — will not exceed the total amount you’ve paid for my services in the preceding six months.

6. Payment Terms

All prices on my website are in Australian dollars (AUD). I am not registered for GST, so there’s no additional tax.

Payments can be made via EFT (best for Australia clients) or PayPal (best for international clients).

Organisations (“inner work” service): I invoice at the end of any month in which 10 or more employee sessions have occurred. If fewer than 10 sessions take place in a given month, I’ll wait and issue an invoice at the end of the month when the 10-session threshold is reached.

Direct clients (outside workplace programs): The same applies here, except the threshold is 6 sessions.

All clients: If there have been more than three months in which no sessions have taken place, I will invoice for any sessions that have occurred up to that point.

Payment is due within 14 days unless otherwise agreed in writing. If an invoice goes unpaid, I’ll follow up with weekly reminders. After the first reminder, a $20 admin fee will be added for each additional reminder. Invoices unpaid after 90 days may be referred to a collection agency, and any recovery costs will be your responsibility.

That said - please don’t let it get to that point. If you’re facing unexpected delays, just let me know. I’m happy to be flexible if we stay in communication and work together to find a solution.

7. Refund Policy

(a) Refunds

If any issues arise, please let me know before paying the invoice. I generally don’t offer refunds for change of mind. However, if the service genuinely didn’t meet your expectations, please reach out and explain what happened. I’m human too, and I’ll consider each situation with care. If I feel a refund or another remedy is appropriate, I’ll do my best to make it right.

Refunds, if approved, will be returned using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

(b) Cancelling ongoing sessions

Ongoing sessions can be cancelled at any time for any reason. Just let me know. For my ‘inner work’ service, cancellation of sessions can be done by the employer, the participating employee or myself.

Any sessions that have already taken place will still need to be paid for. If you cancel a scheduled session with less than 24 hours’ notice, that session will also need to be paid in full, as the time has been reserved for you.

8. Limitation of liability

(a) Consumer Guarantees

I take my obligations under Australian Consumer Law seriously. However, even if there is a major problem, my liability is limited to providing the services again or, if I am unable to do so within a reasonable timeframe, providing you with a full refund.

(b) Limitations

Subject to my obligations under Australian Consumer Law, I am not liable to you for any costs, loss, injury, or damage that you, your organisation or your employees may suffer that is not directly caused by my negligence.

You expressly agree that if this limitation of liability is unenforceable for any reason, my total cumulative liability for all causes of action of any kind other than negligence shall not exceed the amount that you have paid to me during the preceding 6 months.

(c) Invitation to discuss problems.

Concerns and refund requests can be uncomfortable, but they don’t have to be confrontational. If something doesn’t feel right, please reach out. I welcome open, honest and respectful dialogue and will do my best to find a resolution that feels fair to both of us.

9. Appointment policy

(a) Scheduling and showing up

If you are running late and don’t inform me, I will wait for approximately 15 minutes.

You can reschedule sessions up to 24 hours in advance. If you have used the booking page to book the session, simply find the confirmation or reminder email, click ‘re-schedule’ and follow the prompts.

Emergency sessions can be requested within the 24 hour time period, however they are only valid if I confirm them on my end.

If you miss a session without 24 hour notice, the full fee still applies — unless something truly unexpected or urgent has come up.

If I ever miss a session I will attempt to give you at least 24 hours in advance (except in genuine emergencies).

(b) Session Formats

• Video (Google Meet): Most sessions happen via Google Meet. Once booked, you'll receive a confirmation email with the meeting link. If you’re unfamiliar with Google Meet or tend to find tech a bit tricky, watching a quick YouTube tutorial before your first session can be helpful.

• Phone or audio only session: These sessions can be done via a normal phone call if you’re in Australia, or via Signal for international clients. If you choose this format, I’ll call you at the scheduled time.

While audio-only sessions may be slightly less directly effective than video, one benefit is that they can be done outdoors, allowing you to take in sunlight and nature. I may also be outside during these sessions, so occasional background sounds — such as dogs barking or children playing — may occur.

• In-Person (by agreement): In-person sessions are available but need to be arranged ahead of time. These can be held at my home office in Canterbury, Victoria Australia. If I’m working with multiple employees from the same organisation, sessions may be able to take place at your workplace. Please email me to discuss — each situation is unique and depends on factors such as travel.

You may request to record Google Meet sessions. Any recordings are strictly for personal use and must not be shared.

10. Intellectual Property

You’re welcome to share content from my website or social media as long as it’s done fairly, honestly, and legally, and does not distort the spirit or intent of the work.

Attribution is appreciated where it makes sense, but not always necessary — especially when it comes to wisdom rooted in traditions far older than any one of us.

Feel free to be inspired by what I share and adapt it in your own way. However, please don’t copy and paste my content or present it — explicitly or implicitly — as your own, especially for commercial use.

While I prefer a spirit of trust and collaboration over strict legal enforcement, I retain copyright over my original work, and I appreciate you respecting that.

11. Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction

(a) Negotiation

If concerns arise, we both agree that we will communicate with the intention of making a genuine effort to seek a win-win solution and resolve any dispute in good faith by negotiation and discussion.

Please email me, outlining the problem and what you feel is needed to address your concerns. You can expect a response within 7 business days.

If a dispute arises, you agree to refrain from engaging in any public discussions regarding the matter, to communicate politely and respectfully, and avoid any behaviour or communication that could reasonably be expected to negatively impact my business or personal interests. You agree to act in good faith and be reasonably cooperative at all stages of the dispute resolution process. I make the same commitment to you.

(b) Mediation

If the problem cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, you agree to engage in mediation with the assistance of an independent accredited mediator, seeking online mediation if anyone would need to travel for more than 30 minutes to attend. I’ll select a neutral mediator, and we’ll share the costs equally. Legal action must not be commenced until, in the opinion of the independent mediator, the potential for negotiation and mediation has been exhausted.

(c) Jurisdiction

These Website Terms & Conditions are subject to the governing law of Victoria, Australia. Regardless of where you live in the world, you irrevocably agree that if the dispute resolution processes fail, the courts of Victoria, and the Commonwealth of Australia, will have exclusive jurisdiction.

Thank you for reading & respecting my T&Cs

These Terms & Conditions were created with the unique support of Michelle Whitehead from Carefree Counsel. If you're looking for legal guidance for your business, such as writing your legal documents in a way that doesn’t sound like the world will end and you’ll be imprisoned for sneezing in a way that breaches clause 17.3.1(b), I highly recommend her. She’s brilliant at helping people create contracts that feel clear, grounded, and human.

Disclaimer: My services support human potential and wellbeing but are not therapy or medical treatment. I do not diagnose or treat physical or mental health conditions, and I am not a licensed mental health professional, therapist, or doctor. You can read my full disclaimer in my terms and conditions below.
